8 Boys and Wanting a Girl.

Prime Focus has completed post production on Love Production's look at the psychological condition of 'Gender Disappointment' for the Cutting Edge series. '8 Boys and Wanting a Girl' airs at 9pm on Thursday 4th February on Channel 4 and follows forty-three –year-old Wendy Bowen who has eight boys, but is still desperate for her dream girl.

Wendy is not alone, and Cutting Edge meets women like her who suffer from Gender Disappointment like forty-year-old Nicola Trathen, who went abroad to have PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis), a procedure similar to IVF that helps determine the gender of your child, but which is banned in the UK.

But PGD is not an easy option. It's expensive and there are no guarantees. The programme also meets a 41-year-old American mother who has chosen to use PGD to help her have the daughter she's been trying for, for the last 16 years to find out if she will finally get the baby girl she has longed for.

Prime Focus' Graeme Hayes graded the 60 minute documentary while Kristina Theodorou onlined it and Ben Hooper and Kevin Boyle completed the audio work.

"They are very accommodating and understanding of our needs, especially considering we were delivering very close to transmission and I think they did a great job of making sure the final programme looks and sounds its best."

Commenting on the grade, Graeme Hayes said "It's a nice documentary style look, colourful and saturated. Vivianne Howard, the director wanted a warm and slightly pink grade and to get the best out of what is already there."
