Data Operations Manager

Job Description

Responsible for all I/O activities, inclusive of data in and out, data naming, data security, storage, rendering, and delivery.

Responsibilities/Tasks/Reporting

Data Management
A.    Along with the Head of Pipeline, design, document and implement procedures for input of client and co-vendor material for View-D work as well as output of finished product.
B.    Generate requirements for workflow management tools and communicate the requirements to Pipeline development.
C.    Liaise with Head of Systems to ensure data robustness and security.
D.    Provide design input for unified work database as it relates to I/O.
E.    Along with the Head of Pipeline, identify and provide suggested remediation for workflow inefficiencies and storage deficiencies.
F.    Serve as point person for View-D data coordination, tracking, storage and usage definition.
Render Management for View-D
A.    Monitor overall render queues, balancing loading, reprioritizing and ensuring optimum resource utilization by production.
B.    Ensure overall integrity and performance of rendering software.
C.    Team with production on resource allocations and ensure that production demands can be met in a rigorous fashion.
D.    Liaise with the VFX Render Manager.
Communication
A.    Communicate the company’s decisions, procedures, and policies to staff.
B.    Ensure that department is communicating with producers, supervisors, and systems to ensure maximum efficiency across all job functions.
Team Management
A.    Provide initial and ongoing training to direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to successfully perform all position requirements.
B.    Conduct regular performance evaluations on direct reports to provide feedback and discuss areas of improvement.
C.    Clearly establish performance expectations with direct reports and provide the support and direction they need to achieve the desired results.
D.    Promptly address any performance issues, develop action plans for individual improvement and, if necessary, handle any termination issues.
E.    Serve as a champion of the company’s values, mission statement and vision, and provide leadership to direct reports and team members at all levels.

Position Requirements

•    Previous work experience in a Management or similar role
•    Experience working in a VFX Production or similar environment
•    Extremely Detail Orientated
•    Excellent Communication skills
•    Exceptional time management and prioritizing skills
•    Software knowledge a must. You should be familiar with some of the following:
