Variety reports that Fox's 'X-Men: Apocalypse' has launched impressively in the international marketplace with a massive $103.3 million box office ahead of its US release this Friday.
It’s the number one film in 71 markets this weekend, led by the U.K. with $10.5 million at 1,602 sites, followed by Mexico ($8.6 million from 2,676), Brazil ($6.6 million from 1,277), Russia ($6.5 million from 1,208) and France ($5.9 million at 792).
The launch featured the biggest Fox opening weekend ever in half a dozen markets including Philippines ($4.9 million), India ($3.5 million), Indonesia ($3.1 million), Singapore ($3 million), Thailand ($2.7 million) and Colombia ($1.9 million).
Showings at 3D locations accounted for 41% of the gross. RealD locations took in $18.4 million, while 246 IMAX screens took in with $5 million in 57 markets.
