Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is back, returning to Wonderland to rescue her friend The Mad Hatter (Jonny Depp) on a mission that shows her as the hero she was always meant to be, according to director James Bobin.
“Lewis Carroll was really the first person to put a girl as the hero of a book,” Bobin says of the Alice author. “He was very keen to convey the girls that he knew, and their strengths. I think Mia helps that character to be the character Lewis Carroll wanted her to be.”
