It's the biggest UK opening since 'Skyfall': 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' smashes a host of UK box office records

Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' smashed a whole host of UK box office records this weekend, becoming the biggest opener of the year and the eighth biggest opener of all time.

The film took £18m from 585 sites, also picking up the records for biggest April opener ever, biggest ever day for a superhero movie and Disney's own best-ever day.

And it eclipsed not only previous chart topper 'Fast & Furious 7' but also 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and the previous 'Avenger's' movie, which took £15.87m, becoming the biggest UK opener since 'Skyfall', which took £20.18m at the end of 2012.
