'Non-Stop' takes off to lead weekend box office

Reuters reports that Non-Stop, starring Liam Neeson as a US Air Marshal trying to stop a string of murders on a transatlantic flight, has taken the top slot at the weekend box office, collecting $30 million in domestic ticket sales.

Prime Focus World was the exclusive VFX vendor on Non-Stop, delivering 474 shots for the nail-biting thriller.

“This was a great result for the weekend,” said Nikki Rocco, president for domestic distribution at Universal Pictures. She continued to say that more than one-third of ticket buyers were under 25, and that prospects for the film looked strong in the coming weeks as Neeson’s films tend to have box office longevity.
