‘Noah’ starts strong in South Korea with $1.1 million

Noah opened on 730 screens in South Korea Thursday and grossed $1.1 million — the highest opening day in 2014 for the territory.  South Korea is the first opening market for the biblical-themed epic.  The Paramount-New Regency film gross is on par with Gravity’s opening day in South Korea and ahead of Inception, which earned $950k on its opening day.

Prime Focus World delivered stereo conversion on 81 minutes of the film, which hits theaters in North America March 28.
