'The Great Gatsby' Sweeps Australian Academy Awards

Baz Luhrmann's 2013 film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel The Great Gatsby won big at the Australian Academy of Cinematic and Television Arts Awards Thursday evening.  The film won six of the seven categories in which it was nominated including Best Director and Best Film. Leonardo DiCaprio also won the Best Actor award for his lead role, along with Joel Edgerton and Elizabeth Debicki for their supporting roles.

The Great Gatsby also swept all seven of the feature film technical awards categories announced on January 28, including Outstanding Achievement in Visual Effects. The awards are held annually to honor and promote excellence in Australian films and television.  Prime Focus World is proud to have contributed VFX and 3D conversion services on the award-winning motion picture.
