Gravity starves Hunger Games at China Box Office

Alfonso Cuarón's 'Gravity' dominated the China box office this week, despite strong competition from 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' and the release of Kenneth BI畢國智's Control 控制.

Cuarón's sci-fi thriller made $22.1 million between Friday and Sunday compared to 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' which only managed $13 million in its first four release days and 'Control' which grossed $3.54 million in its first three.

The three new films accounted for approximately 72% of all screenings nationwide.
